Day 1 reflection by Tan Hong Kai

1. Did you notice any variation in the way the war was being portrayed through the photos? Is there any bias?


No,although the first few level of the museum is bias towards the americans,as there is pictures where there were americans killing the Vietnam, the last level of it was the other way round.


2. What are the impacts of the war? Think along the lines of types (economic, social, political, environmental), as well as short/long term impacts. You may consider the impacts of Agent Orange and more.


The Agent Orange destroyed many tree plantation and forest in vietnam,cause disfigurement in many generations.
3. Who won and who lost?


The vietnam won.
4. Are there any lessons from the Vietnam War that Singapore can apply currently/in the future?


Make peace with the other countries.


Water Puppet Show


What do you think is the storyline? What do you know about the sources of livelihood in Vietnam?


Their childhood.There were people farming,catching fish.
What is the purpose of the water puppet show? What other function does it serve besides entertainment?
It is a easier way for foreigners to understand their culture in their country.



Would Singapore benefit from its own ‘water puppet show’? Why yes/no?

Yes,other people would be able understand our culture more,and it would attract more people to singapore.

5. What is the difference between the market that you have visited VS that of Singapore’s. Why do you think there are such differences?

The market in VS is in the open and they sell a lot of stuff while singapore’s is in the shade and they only only limited things compared to VS.
